What if I'm not home when my order arrives?
No need to worry! If you're not home at the time of delivery, the carrier will leave your package in a safe location at your address where possible, or leave a delivery notice with instructions on how to arrange redelivery or collection.
How long does shipping take?
In-stock items ship on the same or next business day from the closest available location to you, out of California, Pennsylvania, or Georgia. Orders generally arrive within 2-4 business days for the continental USA.
Any pre-order items will have an indicated shipping date provided at the time of purchase.
If you have ordered more than one item, they may be shipped in separate boxes as separate packages, meaning one part of your order may arrive a day or two before the other.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes! We offer free shipping on all orders over $50 to the continental United States (the lower 48 states).
For orders to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico, shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location.

Do you deliver to PO Boxes, Military Addresses, or Parcel Lockers?
Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to PO Boxes, Military Addresses, Parcel Lockers, or freight forwarding addresses due to the size of our products and the shipping carriers we use.
Please provide a residential or business street address when placing your order to ensure successful delivery.
How do I track my order?
Once your order ships, you will receive an email with a tracking number and a link to track your package. If you have not received a shipping confirmation within 3 business days of placing your order, please check your spam or junk folder first.

My order was marked as delivered but I haven't received it
If no one was home at the time of delivery, the carrier will often leave the package in a safe location.
Be sure to check around your home and with neighbors or building management who may have collected the package for you.
Also, please double-check the shipping address on your order confirmation email to make sure it went to the right location.
If you have ordered more than one item, they may be shipped as separate packages and could arrive up to a few days apart.

My order is missing an item
Our items are generally shipped in separate boxes as separate packages, meaning one part of your order may arrive a day or two earlier than the other part.
If it has been over 3 days since your first delivery arrived, please reach out with your order number at hello@coolcabanas.com and we will investigate further.
Note: If you ordered a CoolCabana and a Grass Kit together, the Grass Kit will likely be packed inside your CoolCabana box.
What payment methods do you accept?

All transactions are processed through a secure, encrypted payment system.
How do I apply a promo or discount code?
To apply a promo or discount code:

- Enter Discount Code: Look for a box labeled "Discount Code" or "Promo Code" on the checkout page. On mobile, you may need to expand the order summary section at the top of the page.

Only one discount code can be used per order. If you are having trouble entering your code, please try clearing the cache on your web browser or trying on a different device.
Can I use more than one discount code per order?
Unfortunately, discount codes cannot be combined. Only one code can be applied per order.
If you have multiple codes, we recommend using the one that gives you the best discount on your particular order.
Do you offer gift cards?
CoolCabanas digital gift cards are available from $25 and make the perfect gift for beach lovers.
Gift cards are delivered by email immediately after purchase and contain instructions on how the recipient can redeem them on our website. Gift cards do not expire and can be used on any product in our store.
Where else can I buy a CoolCabana in the US?
In addition to our official website (coolcabanas.com), CoolCabanas are available through select US retailers including Amazon and West Marine.
Please note that our 1-year warranty only covers purchases made directly from coolcabanas.com. If you purchase from a third-party retailer, warranty claims must be directed to that retailer.

What is your cancellation policy?
Orders can be canceled before we have shipped your items. Our team moves quickly, and we typically ship on the same or next business day, so please email us with your cancellation request as soon as possible.
You will receive confirmation of your cancellation if we are able to make it happen.
After this period, we may not be able to cancel your order as it might already be in processing or shipment. If you have already received an order confirmation email, it may be too late to cancel. However, you can always request a return once your order arrives.
Can I change my order after it has been placed?
Our team moves quickly to ensure orders are shipped out as soon as possible. If you have just placed the order, please shoot us an email via the contact form at coolcabanas.com/pages/contact and be sure to select "Change a recent order."
While it is unlikely that we will be able to make a change in time (since most orders ship same or next business day), we will try our best to accommodate your request.

Do CoolCabanas provide UPF/sun protection?
Yes! The CoolCabana fabric provides UPF 50+ shade that significantly reduces UV exposure, blocking 98% of UV rays. We test our fabrics at least annually with the leading third party testing services (SGS and TUV). See our latest (Oct 2025) test reports here and here.
For full UV protection, leading health organizations recommend combining shade with other sun-safe habits: wear sun-protective clothing, a brimmed hat, and wrap-around sunglasses, and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen. Learn more at the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Which size CoolCabana is best for me?
We typically recommend a Large for families or groups of three and above. A Medium is ideal for a group of one to two.
It is important to note that while the Large is only about 3 inches longer than the Medium when packed up, it provides 45% more shade when open. That extra coverage makes a real difference on a full beach day.
If you are deciding between the two, we almost always suggest going with the Large. The weight difference is minimal and the additional shade is well worth it.
What is the difference between the CoolCabana 5 and the Red Label?
The Red Label is our premium beach shade offering, featuring elevated design elements and exclusive, sophisticated color patterns like Burleigh, Positano, Taormina, and Biarritz.
While both provide the same 64 sq ft of shade and UPF 50+ protection, the Red Label represents the pinnacle of seaside style with its refined styling, premium fabric, and upgraded stitching. It also features a timeless scalloped edge and comes with a higher-quality carry bag.
The standard CoolCabana 5 offers a wider range of vibrant colors and patterns at a more accessible price point. Both are built to last and perform well in typical beach conditions.
Are CoolCabanas easy to carry?
CoolCabanas are designed to be easily carried on your beach or lake journey.
They come with an ergonomically designed carry bag featuring a shoulder strap. The Large weighs 16.5lbs / 7.5kg and the Medium weighs 13.2lbs / 6kg, making them comparable in weight to most large beach umbrellas.
When packed up, a Large CoolCabana measures 42in / 107cm and a Medium measures 39in / 100cm, so they are compact enough to carry under one arm or slung over your shoulder.
Will a CoolCabana fit in my car?
Yes! CoolCabanas will fit in almost all cars.
When in the carry bag, CoolCabanas measure 42in / 107cm (Large) and 39in / 100cm (Medium). They slide easily into the trunk, back seat, or even the footwell of most vehicles. Many customers keep theirs in the car throughout beach season so they are always ready to go.
What is included with my CoolCabana?
Every CoolCabana purchase includes:
- Your CoolCabana
- Middle Pole(s). Size large uses one middle pole, size medium uses two middle poles
- Sand spike (for anchoring the center pole into sand)
- Ergonomically designed carry bag with a shoulder strap
Setup instructions are stitched to the inside of the carry bag for easy reference. No additional tools or equipment are needed for beach use.
If you want to use your CoolCabana on grass, you will need the Grass Kit (sold separately), which includes specially designed pegs, a hammer, and a grass spike.
What prints and colors are available?
New prints are released seasonally, and we have a large range of seasonal styles that are often only a limited run. Not all prints are available in every size, so we recommend checking our website for the most up-to-date selection.
How much shade does a CoolCabana provide?
A Large CoolCabana opens to 8' x 8' (2.4m x 2.4m), providing 64 square feet (5.8m²) of shade. That is more than double the shade of a standard 6-foot (1.8m) beach umbrella, which typically provides around 28 sq ft.
A Medium CoolCabana opens to 6'7" x 6'7" (2m x 2m), providing 43 square feet (4m²) of shade.
How do I set up my CoolCabana?
CoolCabanas are easy to set up, and the whole thing can be done by just one person. Here is how:
- Slide the sand spike into the bottom of the lowest center pole.
- Tap the sand spike vertically into the sand. Important: stop at the marked "Sand Line" on the pole. If you go past it, the corner columns will be slack and will not anchor properly.
- If you have a Medium CoolCabana, slide the second center pole on top of the first before continuing.
- Open the arm on the windiest side (usually the side facing the ocean) and fill its sand pocket with sand.
- Open the arm in the opposite corner and fill that sand pocket.
- Repeat for the remaining two corners.

Can CoolCabanas be used on grass?
Yes! CoolCabanas can be used on grass, making them ideal for use at sporting games, the park, or lake.
For use on grass, you will need to pick up our Grass Kit. It includes specially designed pegs, a hammer, and a grass spike that replaces the standard sand spike. The Grass Kit allows you to anchor your CoolCabana securely on any grassy surface.
If you order a CoolCabana and a Grass Kit together, the Grass Kit will likely be packed inside your CoolCabana box.
How do I use my CoolCabana on grass?
To use your CoolCabana on grass, you will need the Grass Kit (sold separately). It includes specially designed pegs, a hammer, and a grass spike that replaces the standard sand spike.
Setup on grass follows the same general process as beach setup: drive the grass spike into the ground, extend the arms, and secure each corner with the included pegs. The Grass Kit works great on park lawns, sports fields, lakeside grass, and in your own backyard.
What tips help keep my CoolCabana stable?
Here are some tried and tested tips for maximum stability:
- Fill each pocket as full as you can.
- When setting up, open the first arm on the windiest side (typically the ocean-facing side) and fill that pocket first.
- Make sure the sand spike is tapped exactly to the Sand Line marked on the pole. Too low and the canopy will be loose; too high and it may be overly taut.
- When you are setting up, point the corner of the middle pole towards the water for your CoolCabana to face square to the beach when it is set up.
Can one person set up a CoolCabana?
Yes! All CoolCabanas have been designed to be set up by one person. The process involves placing the center spike, opening the four arms one at a time, and filling each sand pocket. Most people complete setup in 3 to 5 minutes on their own.
First-time setup typically takes a little longer (around 5 minutes), but once you have done it once, it becomes second nature. Instructions are also stitched inside the carry bag for quick reference.
How does a CoolCabana compare to a beach umbrella or tent?
CoolCabanas offer several advantages over traditional beach tents and umbrellas.
Compared to beach umbrellas: A large beach umbrella provides roughly 28 sq ft (2.6m²)of shade, while a Large CoolCabana provides 64 sq ft (5.9m²). That is more than double the coverage. Umbrellas are also prone to blowing away in wind due to their single center pole, whereas CoolCabanas feature a stable design with sand anchor pockets that each hold up to 35 lbs (16kg) of sand. The shade from a CoolCabana stays in one place, while umbrella shade shifts constantly as the sun moves.
Compared to beach tents: Unlike enclosed beach tents that can become hot and stuffy, CoolCabanas provide open-air shade while maintaining your view and allowing the ocean breeze to flow through. This is especially important for parents keeping an eye on children in the water.

How do I pack up my CoolCabana?
To pack up your CoolCabana:
- Empty the sand from each corner pocket by lifting the arms and shaking them out.
- Fold each arm back toward the center, one at a time.
- Once all four arms are folded in, pull the center spike out of the sand.
- Slide the folded CoolCabana back into the carry bag.
The whole process takes just a couple of minutes. Give it a quick shake to remove loose sand before putting it in the bag to keep everything clean.
How do I clean my CoolCabana?
To clean your CoolCabana canopy, first remove it from the frame by undoing the screws on the top of the shade in all four corners. Gently hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water, then rinse thoroughly. Allow it to air dry completely before storing or reassembling.
Do not machine wash or use bleach or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the UPF protection and fabric.
For the aluminum frame, simply wipe with a damp cloth to remove sand and salt. After each beach trip, giving the whole CoolCabana a good shake to remove loose sand goes a long way toward keeping it in great shape.
How should I store my CoolCabana?
When you are not using your CoolCabana, store it in the carry bag in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving it in a hot car trunk for extended periods, as prolonged heat during storage can affect the fabric over time.
The most important thing is to make sure your CoolCabana is completely dry before storing it for any length of time. Storing it damp can lead to mildew and musty odors.
For off-season storage, a closet, garage shelf, or similar indoor location is ideal.

When is peak season and when should I order?
In the United States, demand for CoolCabanas is highest from May through August, coinciding with summer beach season. During this period, popular prints and sizes can sell out quickly.
We recommend ordering early in the season to ensure you get your preferred print and size. Many customers order in April or early May to be ready for Memorial Day weekend and the start of summer.

What size Beach Mat should I get?
For a Large CoolCabana, the Large Beach Mat is a tight fit underneath, while the XL mat gives you a slight overhang around the edges. Most customers prefer the XL for that extra coverage.
For a Medium CoolCabana, the Large Beach Mat is the right choice and will provide a slight overhang around the perimeter.
Can I get replacement parts?

What is the Grass Kit?
The Grass Kit is an accessory that allows you to set up your CoolCabana on grass surfaces instead of sand. It includes specially designed pegs, a hammer, and a grass spike that replaces the standard sand spike.
This makes your CoolCabana perfect for parks, soccer games, Little League, picnics, lakeside hangouts, and backyard use.
The Grass Kit is compatible with all CoolCabana models. If you order it together with a CoolCabana, the Grass Kit will likely be packed inside your CoolCabana box.
What is the CoolCabanas Beach Mat?
CoolCabanas Beach Mats are designed to sit perfectly under your CoolCabana. Made from durable, sand-resistant material, they help define your space and keep sand from getting into your belongings. They are easy to clean and fold down compact for transport.
Beach Mats come in two sizes: Large and XL. The Large mat fits neatly under a Large CoolCabana (tight fit) or under a Medium CoolCabana with a slight overhang around the perimeter. The XL mat fits a Large CoolCabana with a slight overhang.
The Beach Mat is sold separately from the CoolCabana.
Returns & Warranty
What is your return policy?
We want you to be completely happy with your purchase! If things don't work out, we are happy to offer a full refund on unused products that are still in their original condition and packaging (and in a state we can resell).
Here is how it works:
Just send us an email at hello@coolcabanas.com with your order number and we will get you sorted. We will provide you with a prepaid return shipping label for $25 (deducted from your refund). Please pop your return in the post within 14 days of receiving it.
Once your return arrives, we will give it a quick inspection and you will hear back from us within 3-5 business days. We will either send you a refund confirmation or give you a heads up if there are any issues. Refunds typically take up to 14 days to appear back on your card.
Please note that items marked as final sale are not eligible for return.
What is your warranty policy?
CoolCabanas products are made with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship to protect you from harmful UV rays and to provide ample shade.
CoolCabana products are fully warranted against defects in the materials and workmanship for one year from the time of purchase. If your product fails due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair it free of charge, or replace it at our discretion.
This warranty does not cover any repairs needed due to accidents, improper care and use, negligence, or normal wear and tear.
Important: The warranty only covers items purchased directly from CoolCabanas. If you purchased from a retailer, warranty claims must be directed to that retailer.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Simply send an email to hello@coolcabanas.com describing the problem, include your order number along with supporting photos.
Upon receipt of all information, our customer care team will make a preliminary assessment and aim to reply within 2 business days.
If you are not satisfied with the preliminary assessment, you can return the item so our technical team can make a thorough inspection. When returning, email a copy of your return tracking number and invoice for the return shipping fee to hello@coolcabanas.com.
All warranty claims must be supported by your original CoolCabana order number issued by us. If you did not purchase directly from us, you will need to contact your reseller.
I purchased from a store - can I return my order to you?
Unfortunately, orders made through one of our retail partners must be returned to them. Warranty coverage and refunds for purchases from retailers are subject to the discretion of the specific retailer and their own return policy.

What do I do if my item arrives damaged?
We are sorry your item arrived with damage! Some items can occasionally be damaged during shipment, and we will do our best to help.

While we may not be able to guarantee your exact order is replaced due to potential stock availability, we will be sure to resolve the situation as best we can.
