You don’t have to replace the spike. All you need to do is stir the spike in a circle motion and it drives its self into the ground. Stop crying. I’m 65 I’ve had open heart surgery two stents and numerous surgery. I set mine up in less than 5 minutes. I w had one since they first came out. Since then my entire family (father of 4 ) have bought one including but not limited to friends. It’s the best.

We’ve been so happy with our coolcabana for 2 years now, but always used a sheet or something similar underneath. We decided to invest in this mat, since what we’ve used in the past seemed to be a kind of nuisance; it would bunch up, and sand was always an issue. Well, the mat is awesome. Sand is inevitable, BUT it came off so easily, and packing up was simple. There’s a hole in the middle, so it doesn’t go anywhere. We got the XL and feel it’s worth the extra money. Highly recommend.
